Services
Individual Therapy
Using primarily evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I actively foster an individual's self-awareness. At the same time, I remain attentive to noticing windows of opportunity that encourage and support the desired growth and meaningful change in their lives.
Couples Therapy
My approach to couples therapy sessions is relational. My goal is to be a helping hand, sharing insights and techniques to shape the communication and caring that you and your partner desire. I primarily use the Gottman method and my heroes in this field are Esther Perel and Terry Real.
Consultation to families struggling with substance use
Author Johann Hari says that the opposite of addiction is connection. I believe I can help families rebuild connection, thrive instead of barely survive and learn to stay connected. I primarily use the CRAFT method in this work, which has a high correlation to encouraging folks struggling with substance use or mental health to seek help and families to feel relief and freedom again through positive reinforcement, self-care and establishing healthier boundaries.
Clinical Supervision
As a member of the counseling community here in Vermont, I also offer clinical supervision for licensure. I have had a variety of experiences in this field over the past 18 years and offer solid knowledge around ethics, boundaries, various modalities and professionalism to new therapists seeking licensure.
“We used the tools and they actually worked! It felt good to finally feel connected.”
